Why should you use key coding?Do you have a lot of lists that you use from time to time or all at once or need to keep track of which list was used when? Need to know when the last time that this list was updated or where it originated from? Purchased a list and paying based on “net names”? These are just some of the challenges that can be easily managed by implementing key codes into your mailing list and database management strategy. Basically we append codes that tells give us information about who, what, when and why of your lists.
There may be situations where we need to append specific information to a field based on an exact match with another field. Matching criteria can be on any field combination and key coding does that.
Key coding facilitates your ability to send specific pieces and/or messages to targeted recipients. Catalogs are key coded, for instance, between customers and non-customers; each group can be communicated with in a very specific manner. It keeps track of the history of each record and each list.
