Address Correction Services, such as the National Change of Address (N.C.O.A.) system, makes available current change of address information that can help reduce your undeliverable mail. Addressing errors are identified and corrected before mail enters the mail stream.Mailers use N.C.O.A. to save thousands of dollars that would have been spent on wasted materials and postage. In addition, valuable customer names that would have been lost have been updated to receive current and future mailings.
Effective November 23, 2008 discounted mail such as bulk, nonprofit or presorted first class is required to use some form of address correction service. What this means to you, the mailer, is that the addresses you send to will have to use one of the approved methods of updating the address list no more than 95 days prior to the mailing. Two of these methods are NCOA and Fast-forward.
