The most common methods used to track are setting up unique phone numbers, emails, or URL’s for each campaign we wish to monitor.
All of the information from these 3 sources tie back into Google Analytics, for a common view.
Phone Calls
We generate a unique phone for each advertising campaign. Based on the geography of your market, we provide a toll free number (1-800) or a local number, inside of your area code. Typically, for a business or organization that market to a small geography, a local number is preferred as it conveys to your prospects that you are a local business, not a large national enterprise. If you are marketing to a large region, then the presence of a toll free number conveys a large company image and the security and confidence that goes along with it. It also takes away any hesitation in regards to the cost of making a long distance call as it is free to the caller.
Website Visits
We create a unique vanity website address (URL) that is setup specifically for this marketing intuitive. This new URL can either be directed to a newly created landing page or we can direct it to an existing page on your website. The old school method of tracking would be to create a URL that incorporated your website name and a new page named after the type of ad you are running, such as www.JonesclothingStore.com/printad1.html. The problem is most people will not type in the complete URL and would either end up on your home page or not on your site at all, either way you will have lost the chance to create a conversion. The NEW URL is typically much shorter and easier to navigate to, such as www.JonesSale.com.
Campaign
Once we have set up a unique URL’s for the campaign we also set up corresponding email addresses, to allow the recipient this option to respond. We want to make it easy to respond and we want to track all responses.
What Produces The Best R.O.I.
It is critical to know which of your advertising initiative is the best use of your money. Stop the losers and pump more money into the winners.Everything we do, all of our tools give you the ability to track. Beyond tracking you must look at the number to see what generated enough conversion compared to the cost of the advertising. You will find that it isn’t all ways what is seems and until you compare the R.O.I. of each advertising initiative you can't be for sure. But once you know, that knowledge is golden and you know you are on the right course. This also makes testing very easy AND inexpensive AND critical to your success as a marketer.
